Autoracks On US1 In Florida
On a recent trip to Florida's east coast my brother and I came across a string of parked autorack cars as well as some FEC (Florida East Coast) pieces and seeing a good photo op I grabbed my Nikon and snapped off a few photos. These cars are impressive in their sheer size, standing next to them was an interesting experience! It was kind of fortuitous as well, running into these cars, as AZL recently released their own Z scale autoracks. These photos were taken right around the Vero Beach area.

From Wikipedia:
An autorack, also known as an auto carrier, is a specialized piece of railroad rolling stock used to transport unladen automobiles (unladen in this context refers to automobiles without passengers).

It is widely used to carry new automobiles and light trucks from the factories to automotive distributors. It is also used for the Auto Train in the United States, which transports passengers and their personal vehicles.
