Our 8-piece double portal set features all face surfaces covered in scale accurate 8" wide concrete forming boards. As you can see the height and width is ample for using with Micro-Trains® Line sectional track. Pictured here is a Marklin GG1 locomotive with it's pantograph in the upright position.
Included in this set are:
• 2 double portals
• 2 unique retaining walls
• 4 sections of tunnel liner
This set is designed for each portal to use one retaining wall, this leaves each side opposite a retaining wall open for improved viewing. During construction of this master model, the individual forming boards are seated in such a way as to mimic a bit of concrete "ooze" from between the boards. Very subtle, but it adds a nice touch.
For aging the pieces of this set an Xacto blade can be placed between the grooves of the forming boards and gently pried in one direction. This will cause very small chips to occur for an older, weathered appearance. All of our gypsum pieces are now given a light coat of white acrylic primer on their face side. This is being done thanks to customer feedback and allows for greater control when painting and weathering.
Details: Portals: Outside dimensions are 2-1/2" wide by 2-1/2" high, Inside dimensions are 1-15/16" wide by 2" high at the top of the arch.
3-Panel Retaining Wall: 2-1/4" wide by 1-7/8" high.
2-Panel Retaining Wall: 1-1/2" wide by 1-7/8" high.
Tunnel Liners: 1" wide by 2" high.
